A few weeks ago I received a message from an artist based in the USA, asking me to document her work at an exhibition here in Athens. She couldn’t make it in person, but her art could. And so it traveled all the way to Greece, to the screens of theholyartgallery, waiting to be seen.
“The Shape of Memory” was a group exhibition that brought together artists from around the world, showing digitally in one of Athens’ most vibrant gallery spaces. Walking in on opening night, I wasn’t just a photographer with a camera. I was a witness. I watched strangers stop mid-conversation, turn toward a screen, and just… stay there. That stillness, that’s what art does when it’s real.
